Some Tech Tips

VIDEO: When it comes to recording your video, you have a few options to choose from: your cellphone, computer, or Zoom. If you’re planning to market to premium clients and stream live, using your cellphone is the easiest choice, offering the highest resolution. Alternatively, you can utilize your computer, but ensure that you have a top-notch webcam for optimal quality. Keep in mind that Zoom is best reserved for interviews or coaching calls, as even with a great webcam, it won’t provide the desired output resolution. So, consider your needs and select the most suitable recording method accordingly.

AUDIO: It’s essential to ensure a high-quality audio experience for your recordings, whether they are for your clients, coaching materials, free gifts, or podcast interviews. To achieve this, it is highly recommended that you invest in a dedicated microphone. Avoid relying on gaming headsets with built-in microphones or internal laptop microphones, as they tend to offer poor quality and may require re-recording, which can be inconvenient, especially for professional podcast appearances. Below are some microphone options to consider:

1. Condenser Microphones: Condenser microphones are widely used for professional recordings due to their excellent sensitivity and sound quality. Popular models include the Blue Yeti, Audio-Technica AT2020, and Rode NT-USB.

2. Dynamic Microphones: Dynamic microphones are known for their durability and ability to handle high sound pressure levels. They are often preferred for podcasting and live performances. Examples include the Shure SM58 and Audio-Technica ATR2100x.

3. Lavalier Microphones: Lavalier microphones are small, discreet clip-on microphones that can be easily attached to clothing. They are ideal for recording hands-free and capturing clear audio. Options like the Rode SmartLav+ and Audio-Technica ATR3350x are popular choices.

Remember, investing in a quality microphone will significantly enhance the audio quality of your recordings, ensuring a professional and enjoyable experience for both you and your audience.
